Work on removing the Main Hall floor has commenced with a hard-working team of volunteers from the Robertson Men’s and Women’s Shed slaving daily to have the job completed in 5 days; well ahead of schedule.

A few weeks ago your Committee provided a detailed Community Briefing on the proposed 2022 & Beyond Project for which we have received very generous funding from Create NSW, the NSW state government Arts & Culture agency. The project presentation was well received with numerous worthwhile suggestions arising from the Q&A session; some of which are already being incorporated into the planning.

We are hoping to have a DA submitted to Council before Christmas and for work on the improvements to follow on after the new floor is completed. All in all, this may mean that the School of Arts is out of action until the middle of 2023. We will update on progress as the project unfolds.

Faster internet for the Southern Highlands

Highland residents and businesses will soon benefit from faster internet with upgrades to the nbn Fixed Wireless network headed our way.  Once complete, the upgrades will extend coverage and allow for higher-speed services.

Work is expected to commence early next year and involves introducing new technology and replacing hardware on the fixed wireless towers. Fixed line and nbn Sky Muster satellite services will not be affected.

Impacted homes and businesses will be notified of any outages via their retail service provider.  Information will also be available via the network status page on the nbn website at nbnco.com.au.

nbnco is in the process of arranging a drop-in style community information session in Burrawang for interested locals.  Keep an eye out for future updates.

BURRAWANG EASTER MARKET 2023 – Saturday, 8 APRIL, 2023
After an absence of 3 long years, the Burrawang Easter Market Committee is excited to welcome back our much-loved tradition of the annual Easter Market. Preparation is well underway with a great interest in stalls and our traffic plans are in hand.
Taking place on Saturday 8 April 2023 between 8am and 4pm, the streets of our village will, once again, be filled with arts, crafts and delicious goods of many of our local Southern Highlands merchants.
Further information and updates will be provided as we move closer to Easter 2023. The Burrawang Easter Market provides fundraising opportunities for many local organisations as well as the ‘Burrawang Grant’. Further information can be found at www.burrawangeastermarket.com

As with many not-for-profit fund raising events, we rely on our volunteers.  If you would like to be involved with the organisation of the markets or would be available for a few hours on the day, please email Karen at burrawangeastermarket@gmail.com.
